ENGL 126 Honors Public SpeakingAs a performance workshop, this course focuses on the theory, practice and criticism of various types of public speaking experiences, including extemporaneous, impromptu and researched speeches that Honors students will encounter in academic, professional, personal and civic situations. Students will learn how to engage the attention, attitude and actions of others through both formal and informal speaking presentations to their peers and the larger college community. In the capstone project speech, special emphasis will be on how a honed message can drive societal change. Open to students enrolled in Honors College or by permission of department chair. NOTE: Credit can only be received for one of the following: ENGL 125 Public Speaking or ENGL 126 Honors Public Speaking.
