HLTH 145 Philosophy of Traditional & Alternative MedicineThis course is an introductory examination of the cultural perspectives and core concepts of alternative and traditional medicine. The aim is to offer the student a valuable exploration through all existing dimensions of traditional, complementary and alternative medicine, including potential efficacy and safety issues. The course is intended to provide the student with various
learning experiences designed to stimulate critical thinking among the similarities and differences of the two philosophies. Students will learn about and discuss many wellness therapies that collectively impacting contemporary medicine. Each student will be expected to take an active role in the learning process through class discussions and activities, completing out of class
assignments, as well as conducting out of class research, when appropriate.
