Department Chairperson: Scott M. Hathaway
Brahan Hall, Room 124, (518) 629-7347

The Fashion and Design microcredential is created for students interested in developing skills in fine and digital art and learning the forms and styles of Western dress and its relationship to culture in history. Critical and contextual functions of art in history are also emphasized.

Courses provide intensive hands-on learning experiences and opportunities for technical proficiency using industry standard equipment and software in a studio setting. Courses also provide foundational, conceptual frameworks which allow students to analyze and interpret significant historical elements of art and fashion, thus preparing them for further study in an arts-based context.

Courses are stackable and can be applied toward either the Fine Arts A.S or the Digital Media A.S.

Some coursework is delivered in an online modality only.
