The Indigenous Studies Microcredential offers students a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of the histories, cultures, and literature of Indigenous and Native American communities, particularly those in New York and New England. Through three focused courses - Introduction to Indigenous Peoples, Indigenous Literatures, and Native American Cultures of New York and New England - students will explore major themes, texts and historical contexts that shape Indigenous experiences. this program equips learners to critically analyze and interpret issues confronting Indigenous peoples while emphasizing cultural resilience. By completing this microcredential students will develop valuable skills in critical thinking, effective communication, and cultural competency that are applicable across diverse academic professional fields.
