EDUC 108 Individuals with Exceptionalities in The School and CommunityThis course will emphasize the diverse abilities of children and adults with exceptionalities, highlighting their unique strengths and challenges. It includes the study of the disability classifications, needs of children and youth with disabilities, and significant state and federal legislation related to special education. The course will also address instructional strategies, co-teaching, positive behavioral supports and interventions, and the impact of cultural and
economic diversity on the experiences of individuals with exceptionalities. Students will be required to complete 15 hours of independent field experience to gain practical insights into the field.
