BIOL 112 Introduction to Biotechnology

This course introduces students to the field of biotechnology, including a brief history of the industry, drug discovery and manufacturing. Students will explore techniques and instrumentation used in biotechnology labs, including recombinant DNA technology and common mathematical skills utilized in the biotechnology lab. Industry regulations and ethical issues will be considered, and students will be acquainted with possible career paths in biotechnology.
