DART 210 Advanced Graphic Design

Building upon foundational knowledge acquired in Intro to Graphic Design, this course delves deeper into the intricacies and complexities of graphic design. Students will engage in comprehensive studies of typographic design, learn about typeface selection, font pairing, and the nuanced use of typography in various design contexts. The course also covers advanced topics in visual hierarchy, color theory and composition, enabling students to create visually compelling and strategically effective designs.

Through a series of hands-on projects, students will apply advanced design methodologies, explore innovative digital layout techniques and experiment with contemporary design software. Critical analysis of historical and modern graphic designs will be a key component that will allow students to contextualize their work within the broader landscape of visual communication and prepare them for a career in the dynamic field of visual communication.
