PHYS 149 Medical General Physics IIThis course is the second term of a two-term medical general physics sequence designed to meet requirements for students interested in a pre-med program. Topicsinclude thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism and modern physics. Throughout the course,the basic ideas of physics are stressed and presented in depth, particularly as they apply to the life sciences and medicine. Sufficient mathematics and algebra are presented so that the student can gain insight into both theory and application through problem solving. The laboratories are largely quantitative and stress applications. This course is not recommended for students lacking strong arithmetic and algebraic skills. High school level physics and math preparation is recommended.
