ARTS 270 History of PhotographyThis course offers a survey of the history of photography from its invention in the early 1800s to the present. Emphasis is on the aesthetic, cultural, intellectual and expressive aspects of the medium during its development. This is a non-studio photography course, suited to photographers and non-photographers alike. The course is suited to anyone seeking to understand the relationship between contemporary photography and its historical roots.
