PHYS 105 Introduction to AstronomyThis is a one-semester laboratory course in descriptive astronomy covers planetary, stellar and galactic astronomy appropriate for non-science majors. It is offered as a web-based course only. Students will be able to use celestial coordinates and constellations to locate celestial objects. They will be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the properties of stars, planets, moons, comets, and meteors, nebulae and galaxies. They will be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the origin and make-up of the solar system and cosmos.
