PSGT 200 Fundamentals of Neurodiagnostics IIThis is a didactic and laboratory class designed to promote a better understanding of sleep recording methodology including stages of staging, introduction to scoring principles and event recognition. Students will learn the standards for sleep staging, sleep/wake analysis and recognition of artifact and limb movements. The student will learn the theory and application of Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) devices and oxygen during a sleep study as well as the procedures for generating a sleep report using information gathered during the data acquisition phase of the sleep study. For matriculated Polysomnography students, a grade of “C” or better is required to meet graduation requirements. Pre-requisite(s): ICVT 200 Introduction to Health Care with a final grade of “C” or better; PSGT 100 Applied Pharmacology with a final grade of “C” or better; PSGT 120 Fundamentals of Neurodiagnostics I with a final grade of “C” or better; RESP 110 Human Anatomy and Physiology with a final grade of “C” or better. Pre- or co- requisite(s): PSYC 200 Child Psychology or PSYC 205 Developmental Psychology .
