CIVL 224 EstimatingThis course covers the basic principles and methods most significant in contract relationships; appreciation of the legal considerations in construction work; preparation and writing of contracts and specifications to satisfy building codes and architectural considerations. The process of quantity surveying and the calculation of a formal bid for building construction projects also is covered. NOTE: Students should contact the department to determine which pre-requisite would be appropriate based on career goals. Pre-requisite(s): CIVL 220 Architectural Design or CNST 103 Blueprint Reading for Technologies .
