Associate in Arts
HEGIS #5649
Department Chairperson: Dr. Elizabeth Yanoff
Higbee Hall, Room 102, (518) 629-7250
This major is the traditional beginning of a baccalaureate liberal arts program. The emphasis in a liberal arts transfer program is on breadth of knowledge rather than depth. Students take courses in several different fields to assist their selection of a specific field at the transfer institution.
The program has had an excellent transfer reputation with four-year private and public institutions. Transfer agreements and majors are updated regularly to meet student needs.
Students in this program also have the opportunity to pursue dedicated SUNY Transfer Paths which provide general education along with discipline specific courses for inclusion into a broader Associate of Arts degree. Students will work closely with their academic advisors to select additional courses within their field of study to obtain junior status in their desired baccalaureate program.
