CIVL 215 Architectural Design IV

This course will provide an overview of the different variables that engineers and architects consider when designing during an integrated process. We will review the design concept of a competition building that was never built. We will redesign the schematic of the building to an extent determined by the professor and will explore the ways the structural and MEP systems function and schematically design accordingly. We will discuss terminology, abbreviations and symbols used in drafting construction documents, providing students with a practical application of information they have learned. Upon completion of this course, students will have the tools necessary to understand why certain systems are used and the ability to assist with the development of construction documents.
