The Micro-Credential in Intermediate Direct Care Skills is the second in a series of three stackable micro-credentials. The intent of this micro-credential is to build upon the theory and concepts acquired in the Basic Direct Care Skills Micro-Credential. This credential provides skill based knowledge directly related to working with individuals in various helping capacities. Intervention strategies and techniques specific to the adolescent population will be explored and presented in an effort to provide employees with a broader skill base to professionally handle the range of issues presented by children in residential care settings.
Micro-credential Pre-requisite:
HUSV 109 Orientation to Fieldwork -HUSV 109 is a pre-requisite required by the Human Services Department, prior to a student being able to enter HUSV 110 Human Services Skills

Suggested Course Sequence
It should be noted that the credential can be completed in less than four terms if the student chooses to take courses on the Hudson Valley campus in addtion to the course being offered at NorthernRivers.
