PSYC 280 Experimental PsychologyThis course provides a general introduction to how psychologists go about the business of doing their science. Topics covered will include the scientific method as it applies to behavioral sciences; the connection between research and statistics; ways to measure and assess behavior; hypothesis testing using multiple methodologies; the kinds of inferences one can logically draw from data collected using different research methodologies; the steps psychologists go through to communicate their findings effectively and to publish them in scientific journals; and the ethical issues involved in conducting research.
