PSYC 225 Sport PsychologyThis course consists of a systematic, empirical study of human thought and behavior in sport. Major topics that will be covered include the following: introduction to sport psychology, research methodology, gender and sport, personality and the athlete, information processing in sport, learning in sport, anxiety and arousal in sport, cognitive-behavioral interventions, motivation in sport, social psychology in sport, psychobiology and doping, and developmental aspects of children’s sport participation.
