HIST 201 American Revolution How are modern debates about rights, equality, oppression, freedom, and identity shaped by the American Revolution? This course will explore this question by considering the factors that gave rise to the American war for independence as well as social, political, and economic life in the American colonies. Topics will also include the causes of the conflict, the rise of American government, and the aftermath and legacy of the war, including the ratification of the Constitution and the war’s impact on American life today.
